Grand Central Floral in West Coast National Park Langebaan

Ideal day trip to view the flower season in full swing. Postberg section of West Coast National Park open to public in August and September!

The West Coast National Park is always worth a visit specifically during the symphony of the beauty of flower season where fields are covered in all colours imaginable.

Every year in spring, the area bursts into a splash of colour as wildflowers bloom. Best of all that the protected area Postberg is open to the public in August and September. There are 250 bird species in the greater park, game species like eland and mountain zebra, as well as passing whales and dolphins along the Atlantic Ocean, especially from the Atlantic viewpoint or Tsaarsbank.

The highlight of the park is the Langebaan Lagoon, which is a Ramsar Wetland of international importance.

The West Coast National Park is about 362,6 km² and its main attractions are Kraalbaai Beach (which is very popular for swimming), hiking the Strandveld Trails, Bird watching and experiencing Geelbek Restaurant unless you decide to bring your own picnic basket along.

Ideal day trip if you stay at Farr Out Guesthouse in Paternoster for some time to discover all the beauties along the West Coast.

Wonderful relaxing time

Eleanor Selley and I stayed 3 nights at Farr Out. The beds were very comfortable with crisp cotton bedding and the perfect weight duvet. The furnishings and patio were lovely and the bathroom beautifully decorated too with perfect towels and robes also. Large efficient shower. Marion couldn’t have done more to make out stay a great success with plenty of tips and she even made restaurant bookings for us.

A very good experience

We stayed for 2 nights with 6 persons at Farr Out Guesthouse. We got a very warm welcome, in nicely furnished rooms. Especially the Wigwam was a Highlight. Breakfast is expansive and fine.Rooms are clean, Staff is frendly and hosts are very helpfully.Thank you Deon and Marion

What a treat and YES you deserve this too. We booked the glamping option in the wigwam "Rising Moon" and that was really super special. Think howling winds and eerie cries of wildlife but you are tucked into an octagonal bed covered in blankies and even a heatable one under your bum. Fantastic place! Warm and welcoming host, great location. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The hot tub and beach buggy ride is an absolute must! This place offers everything you would need on a break away from the city.
