Probably one of the best host experiences we've ever had. The attention to detail was outstanding! A highlight on our West Coast road trip. Even though we made a very last minute booking, Marion made sure we were spoilt for my partner birthday.

Eleanor Selley and I stayed 3 nights at Farr Out. The beds were very comfortable with crisp cotton bedding and the perfect weight duvet. The furnishings and patio were lovely and the bathroom beautifully decorated too with perfect towels and robes also. Large efficient shower. Marion couldn’t have done more to make out stay a great success with plenty of tips and she even made restaurant bookings for us.

We stayed for 2 nights with 6 persons at Farr Out Guesthouse. We got a very warm welcome, in nicely furnished rooms. Especially the Wigwam was a Highlight. Breakfast is expansive and fine.
Rooms are clean, Staff is frendly and hosts are very helpfully.

What a treat and YES you deserve this too. We booked the glamping option in the wigwam "Rising Moon" and that was really super special. Think howling winds and eerie cries of wildlife but you are tucked into an octagonal bed covered in blankies and even a heatable one under your bum. Morning greets with an instant warm shower and afterwards crossing a wonderful adventure garden with many nooks inviting you to sit down and admire, before your sumptuous breakfast awaits at your host's place. Marion and Deon will regale you with anedoctes of Paternoster living while feeding you with the finest selection of German sausages and cheese anywhere found beyond the Cape Town Boerewors Curtain...Do not miss out on the Hot Tub ! Its divine and planned out once more to the last loving detail (rubberducks included). Honestly-what a special time we had. We will be back !

Fantastic place! Warm and welcoming host, great location. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The hot tub and beach buggy ride is an absolute must! This place offers everything you would need on a break away from the city.

The staff were amazing, friendly and really went out of their way even when loadshedding made their lives difficult.

The wigwam was something unique and the electric blankets made it nice and cozy. Plenty to see on the property and loads on offer as well.

We will definitely be back. One of my favorite spots now.

My husband, father and I had the pleasure of staying at Farr Out Guesthouse for a few days in December 2022. My husband & I stayed in the Wigwam & my father had a comfortably, spacious room to himself. Marion & Deon were very accommodating hosts with Marion making reservations for us at local restaurants (we hadn’t realised there was a public holiday & would’ve struggled to find anywhere to eat without prior reservations!) and Deon’s conviviality in the mornings at breakfast. Great location to explore local attractions & plenty of wildlife about. Watch out for the moving rocks (tortoises) and we even got to help with rescuing a baby owl.

My partner and I recently spent two nights staying in the WigWam, and it was wonderful. Situated a couple km outside Paternoster, we were surrounded by beautiful fynbos filled with many birds (including a resident barn owl), and the sights, sounds and smells of nature. We each had a massage, one of the "add-ons" offered, and it was amazing - so relieving and relaxing. The dune buggy tour with Dion was immense fun - and yes, we did see dolphin surfing in the waves! Paternoster itself has a massive open beach which is lovely to walk on (although too cold to swim) and there are lots of restaurants, ranging from casual dining experiences to the world famous Wolfgat. Marion and Dion are excellent hosts who, along with their team of staff, go to great lengths to make guests feel at ease.

Ultimately, it was the perfect weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town, to destress and reconnect with each other and with nature.

What a wonderful experience to have stayed here for a few nights! I could easily write at least three chapters of a book on this lovely Guesthouse :) Such welcoming and knowledgeable hosts, Marion & Deon. We preferred the unique and oh-so-romantic Wigwam/Teepee. Lovely property and from the moment you arrive, you can see that time, thought and care has gone into creating every inch of this property - unique ideas with a great sense of humor as well! One example would be the little footpaths of sea shells - beautiful whites and blues and no doubt the inspiration came from the Cape Columbine nature reserve :) But there is a lot more to see and I suggest you see it for yourself :)

I highly recommend that you also add the Value-added extras like the super fun Beach Buggy Ride (Deon has an excellent knowledge on various subject matters - local fynbos, history of the town, the ocean..) as well as the wood-fired Hot Tub (especially on a cold evening, it is well worth it)

Excellent Breakfasts are included and is a great way to start the day before exploring the area. We love being just outside the village as it can get noisy. Marion is always willing to give advice regarding what to do, where to go, where to eat despite the fact that they already provide the best guest information book in the unit with contact details lol

We'll return again and again as this was just our first of many visits to the West Coast and Farr Out in particular!

Enjoyed the friendliness and warmth of Marion and Deon. Made it a very special visit. The room was spacious and stylish with a beautiful view. Loved being a bit out of town surrounded by nature and a view of the sea in the distance. The breakfast was great value and a wonderful opportunity to get travel tips from other guests.
